Take notes in Microsoft Teams Meetings

In today’s fast-paced business world, organizations face numerous challenges related to effective meeting management. One of the key aspects that has long been considered essential for successful communication and information retention is meeting note-taking.
However, in today’s fast-paced and technology-driven world, the traditional approach to note-taking is no longer effective and is creating new challenges. From virtual meetings to complex discussions and the need to multitask, it has become much more difficult to collect and organize important information. Ensuring a balanced interaction, along with the need to document key points and tasks, requires adaptation of note-taking strategies.
Today, Microsoft is introducing a public preview of Collaborative Notes, a new way to keep your work moving forward: creating agendas together, taking notes together, and tracking next steps. “Shared Notes solves the standard limitation of having one notebook for agendas and notes and makes them accessible to everyone, ensuring accuracy and engagement at every stage of the meeting.
“Shared Notes” are Loop components that sync across all places they are used, such as Outlook, Teams chat, the Loop app, Word for web, and Whiteboard. Before a meeting, share “Shared Notes” in Teams or via email to start creating an agenda together. This helps ensure that everyone can contribute to the group’s discussion, no matter which Microsoft app they’re using.
During the meeting, all participants can add agenda items, even at the last minute, edit notes together, create tasks, and define next steps. You can see who’s working on the notes at the top of the Shared Notes and attribute each piece by clicking on the text. Project leaders and participants can continue to share these notes during and after the meeting, which helps keep project momentum going and improves efficiency.
After the meeting, your team can update notes, check off tasks, and add new information from any app they use. Recorded tasks will be automatically synced to ToDo and Planner, so everyone gets reminders of upcoming steps – making tracking easy and convenient!
As a part of Loop, you can easily transfer “Shared Notes” from meetings to the Loop app and keep working. Add your component to your Loop workspace, where you can gather everything you need for your project in one place. This fall, Loop’s integration with OneNote will make it easy to include Shared Notes from meetings in your OneNote notebooks. You’ll be able to edit these notes in OneNote, bringing your meeting notes together in one centralized place.
